Tesco Warranty not available for 4x4 (actually, it is)
Called Tesco Warranty Plan this morning (0844 5738121)
Gave them my reg no. and was told they do not cover 4x4!!!!!!!!!
Told them I knew others had Finest/Prestige policies for Land Rovers, but was told they need to check their documents because we do not cover 4x4 on ANY policies.
Has anybody managed to take out a Tesco warranty plan since 23rd Sept?
It looks like they have stopped taking 4x4s.

Web site still got listed as 'Prestige' - last updated Feb though....
Just checked the website and they no longer appear to do on-line quotation/purchasing - you have to ring them
Not surprising really when you consider that I only took our policy out beginning of April and it has already paid for itself several times with a transfer box oil leak and two differential leaks. Currently talking to them about a replacement heated screen which has failed and they said it's covered.
Plus I know several others on this forum in the same position - so if you look at them on their own I wouldn't be surprised if they've made a loss on LRs alone and are know having to reconsider their premiums and policies.
Just makes me wonder what they are going to offer, if anything when it my policy come up for renewal next April LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

There go my plans for end of original warranty Dr. Ian Malcolm:

Transgenic tomato anyone?

Just rang them to enquire if mine is covered, and YES was the answer. However, the 4x4 needs a phone quote now and the policy is reflected on age and mileage.
Did ask about the renewel too, all I got was the policy would be judged on the individual holder, so it seems the more claims will push up your new policy.

Looks like DSL better get saving then I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

DSL, it's all your fault.
That's what I said, D3 owners now need to ring them.

If I can't get it renewed I'll just start doing large repairs such as diffs etc like we did on the old Discovery - search Breakers yards and go for used bits rather than shiney new ones - at the end of the day our D3 isn't the primary car for us and we could cope without it for a few days/weeks.
If I only had one car, I agree with you DSL, I'd probably end up with a non-LR 4x4 At least there seem to be alot more D3 parts available through breakers these days than even 12-18 months ago, so hopefully that won't happen in the too near futureLRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Phoned and still can be taken out.
Was advise that if someone had taken out a Finest policy then they would not have to step the policy down to Standard once the vehicle was over 6 years old or had done 60,000 miles.
