Can you reach behind the bumper and unplug each one to find out which one is fecked?

You need chock the wheels
Switch the ignition on but you dont need the engine running
Select reverse
Let the hand brake off
Listen to to the sensors they will make a clicking sound.
The one not clicking or clicking quietly is faulty.
You will neèd to remove the rear bumper to replace but its only a 10 minute job and mainly all clips
I bought a set of four valeo ones from ebay for £25 as i had two faulty and thought the other two will fail soon anyway

Found it.
1 wrongun in the front middle right.
Will see if I can pop it out from behind to check the connections.
If not will order a replacement.
Thanks for the advice 👍😁formerly Disco3Ben

The cable assemblies are quite fragile and get damaged easily so go careful.
Taking the bumper off to replace them from behind looks scary but is a 10min job in reality.
From experiance I'd suggest you do it in warm weather as the plastic clips around the wheelarch are less likely to break.

It's maybe a 20 min job if the 4 bolts along the bottom are free.
If they are siezed, its not so fun

Had a look - as the sensor was fecked I went at it from the front.
Wiring looks fine.
Think the sensor may have had an impact.
Now to order a replacement....formerly Disco3Ben

replacement fitted and still have the error message
must be electrics in that case.
so think it's a bumper off job now to investigate.
anywhere / anything in particular I should be looking for?

Removing the front bumper looks a lot more involved than expected:
not particularly difficult, but certainly not a 10 minute job!
I've heard that the wiring can have issues as it's quite weak going to the front sensors - but what exactly and where a mI looking?
Thanks formerly Disco3Ben

If the bumper has been off before, it shouldn't be too bad, if it's never been removed I think you're in for a struggle. Most of the fasteners will be seized in place and may need replacing. From memory, I think I drilled 2 out.
Again from memory, you'll need a second pair of hands armed with pliers to disconnect the head lamp washer pipes when it moves forward. ( passenger side I think )
I can't agree with Nasher either, it'll take considerably longer than 10 minutes.

The last middle front I did I only removed the fixings on one side / underneath and had sufficient access with the freed side pulled away.

I’ve replaced the sensor but still joy.
That makes me think it’s electrics.
I’ve read that the wiring on these is delicate so I’m keen to learn what I should be looking for and where once I’m in there👍formerly Disco3Ben
