Ah back in the golden days, when the D3 was still in LR warranty.
And Toby is a grey muzzed curdog, and not sure if he wants to go out in what is now 6" of snow on the ground.
Reversed into a parking spot with snow around, opened driver's door to see where lines were. Decided to move out again and re-align but EPB wouldn't automatically release until door was shut!Tony
So bought a couple of things for the car. A roller blind tonneau cover for the loadspace (why are there never any in the cars when you buy them?) and an RLD spare wheel protector. [Pictures to follow]
Next stop is to get my remap done (original booking was cancelled last week).Tony
So. Sat quietly in a café whilst Mike from Dynachip is outside working his magic on my ECU.
If it is anything like the change I had when he remapped the TD5 then I'll ne grinning an even broader grin after.Tony

Whippet do you have your Nanocom from your D2? I have just gone from D4 to D2 so opposite way to you wondered if you had it either for sale or borrow in exchange for beer tokens MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

Remap done, test drove perfectly. Felt so much more responsive and torquey. But now car completely disabled!!!!
Mike warned me that the battery -ve clamp wouldn't tighten up fully so would need sorting. So headed home...hit a big pothole...suddenly all manner of fault codes etc thrown up. Pulled over quickly turned off engine and investigated. Nothing. Tried to restart car, nothing. Getting a series of faults on trying to start the car all pointing to canbus comms issues. Called Mike who turned around immediately and came to help. He tried everything from a hard reset to running jump leads for extra juice...nothing. Ended up having the car picked up by AA and relayed home. Also car is stuck in Park so heaven knows what else has been done dragging it onto the flatbed and unloading with a winch!!!
The AA reckons that the battery spiked because of loose connector and something has shut down.
Any suggestions on what to do when I get home this evening or is this a job for a land rover specialist? Wonder if I need a new battery as a starting point.Tony
So, 3 1/2 weeks later I'm over £2000 out of pocket but finally have the car back.
Reflash of various computers, a new BCU, battery plus labour, plus shipping the car from A to B has seriously dented any prospect of working on the car. Also, the reflash has wiped the ECU remap
Methinks this car is jinxed. But gonna persevere and hopefully things will calm down for the foreseeable future.Tony

That’s awful! Any claim against the place you bought it?
Do they think it was related to the remap?King of the typo.

Nope...the new battery was because the -ve lead was off when the AA man arrived and they think because it wouldn't tighten it jumped off and spiked the electrics somehow, which blew the BCU somehow.Tony
IID BT ordered as part of the Group Buy from Duckworths.
Was hoping to get the ATs fitted this week but the repair bill for the BCU etc have put paid to those this month. Let's hope I don't regret that if the snow comes!!Tony
