Nothing brave about it biskit - infact the opposite Embarassed . I'm an instructor at the site so know it like the back of my hand and hence decided it was a good way to learn about all the electricery on the D4 HSE over the D3 coiler without having to worry too much about the terrain I was drive - and I could test things out using different settings on the same piece of terrain to see what difference it makes.

The overall result...

Mr. Green Very, very pleased indeedee.

Geraldine (the chief instructor/owner of the site) and I both agreed that the D3/D4 sometimes make things too easy for teaching off-road basics to beginners, simply because it just takes everything in it's stride and that could give novices a false sense of security which could lead to problems if they head off on their own.

Using Geraldines prior experience in D3 with TR on this site, we tried to compare the D4 TR electronics to those of a D3 - and in her informed opinion she thought that the D4 appeared to be quicker at changing settings to counter what we threw at it i.e. locking and unlocking of centre & rear diffs. The ideal would have been to have another D3 along and drive one following the other to get a direct comparison, but unfortunately on this occassion that didn't work out - so we plan to do it again some time later this year.

No matter what we had a really good time, and my thanks to SWMBO for taking all the photos for me Bow down

Before any asks - yes I am planning on organising a Disco3 event at the site at some point in the future.

Andy, unfortunately because they had courses running, like most days, I couldn't really bring anyone else along on this occasion - but as I said above, you'll all get the opportunity to see the site on a Disco3 event later this year. I've now driven pretty much every track on the site in D3 or D4 and am happy that it's D3/4 friendly.

Watch this space site Wink

Great photos! Looks even better like that than shiny and new at Yeovil!

LR should use those shots instead of the current TV advert - you'd think the D4 only worked on tarmac from that!

Event there sounds fun Thumbs Up
