You think you have problems |

My dealer is closing shop.
For me that means an 800k trip north or a 1600k trip south for a dealer service and warranty issues
I wish the dealer (Lance) and his family well, and hope LRA will appoint a local agent soon, otherwise I'll use up most of my service interval just getting home

wopac5 - bad news indeed (and I know this is an understatement...)
Maybe you'll have to schedule tours/trips that take in a LR agent every 6 months...
Has Lance indicated if LRA have mentioned appointing a new agent?

I was very impressed with their service when I called in to have my car looked at after I had reattached my diesel fuel return line after it vibrated off 150k south of Halls Creek, nasty beasties them corregations.
I also had them do some minor repairs to the suspension on my caravan. The loss of such a dealership up there is not good for the locals or travellers, as you say its a big step between dealers in that part of the big island.

Budda
you're right.
New dealer appointed...
Moxham Mts Karratha
now have the dealership. Now only have to travel 5k for a service. Best for me is my boy works there and will do my vehicle so I know who's working on it and he knows what I expect.

Hi Wopac,
Perhaps this can help. There are two LR dealerships in Perth with a couple of independent service centres that are approved for servicing under warranty. They are not authorised todo warranty repairs, but it will not affect your warranty if you service with them.
Perhaps you can have a "service centre" approved by Land Rover in your area. I would imagine that a "Testbook" or at least a Autologic unit be part of that approval. You will then only need to get you vehicle checked out by Land Rover, if you need to claim something against the warranty. Why is the fear of long words called hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia?

Know how you feel Wopac!
I have to go 720km for my services and, doing over 4,000km a month, the trip comes around at least every three months. Soon to go up again for the big 120,000 jobbie. Have a nice day!

Hi Wopac5,
Heard on the grapevine that Lance had closed shop but was hoping it was only a rumour. Guess losing his workshop manager to another workshop didn't fair too well for the buisiness. It's a shame as I bought my last two Disco's from Lance and got pretty good service to boot. Hope Moxhams do as good.

Well, that was short lived...January sees the appoint, ent of a new dealer in town, also listed on the official LR site as the dealer,. Now it's March and we no longer have a dealer.
So it's back to an 1800k trip for service...will help get me into a lower FBT bracket I suppose
