Thinking of changing to a D4 |
|
Hi all. i am thinking of swapping my FL2 for a D4, i have take a MY12 for a test drive and was very impressed. I have seen a few MY11 for around the £40k mark and was wondering if it is worth the extra £10k or so for the MY12 over the MY11.
Will there be much differance in MPG between the two with the new one have an 8 speed gear box ? i did like how the MY12 came with the Timed Climate as standard this would be quite useful for me.

i cant comment on the 8 speed box - but the D4 with 6 speed is great.
the D4 is the only car/brand I want at the moment (other than the D3) - even if I could afford a FFRR, I would still opt for the D4 Duncan

Its got two more gears
Seriously though :
Fuel consumption is better - I'm averaging about 30 around town, 31 over an 1800 epic and about 23 if its in sport and I'm caning it
Timed climate is great, comfort is great. IMHO very nice to drive and still very practical.
Is that better? My17 Volvo XC90 Inscription

I test drove a couple of D4's and commented on how the gearbox is not as smooth at low speeds as my Merc (new E class). Now, I didn't expect it to be as smooth, and so wasn't really fussed. The Merc is seamless, as you'd expect, but the D4 is not quite.
Now I have the 2012 D4. The engine is quieter than my Merc, it is smoother than my Merc and the gearbox is better than my Merc. It really is excellent.

Agree with gearbox on merc E, Disco 4 my11 not as good but engine quieter and more than enough power.
Would think the 8 speed box would be the icing on the cake.
Don't think just do it either will be a fab experience D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST
