could this design be part of the new discovery range?

I am currently in the states on business and have see up close the explorer ford vehicle. I have to say that it is very similar to the vision concept LR have just put out!

With ford possibly knowing the design philosophy of the discovery range whilst they owned LR. could this Ford model be similar in design to a baby discovery for the future? again I have seen one of these up close and personnel and it has a lot of the design cues from the explorer/vision concept.

just food for thought!

Doubt it was in the development line when Ford sold to Tata.

Interestingly though during Fords ownership lots of rumours that Disco 3 was going to be based on the then Ford Explorer, though did hear later it had to be scrapped as the Explorer floor plan was just not up to the job.

That's a very nice ford, as a Land Rover I'm not so sure.

As for design cue's, somebody on here has already done a side by side comparison with the explorer and the new vision concept.

Also, the vision concept and the back of a ford galaxy are remarkably similar. (imho)

Numpty,

I know it is not the explorer it is the edge. What I was trying to shown is the possible design and size the baby disco could be?

The next generation Ford Edge will apparently be sold over here as well in the same way as Ford Kuga/Escape is now. I did a tour of Florida in a hired Explorer last year and found it to be a really great car to live with and it looked fabulous.

I see about 20 Ford Edges a day on the roads. I'd rather drive a Yugo.

no thanks, you could swap the grill badge for KIA, Toyota, Hyundai and you'd be none the wiser
