What three words and phone connectivity

Something that’s bugging me,
I use what three words when I’m on duty as a community first responder , one it’s more up to date and two I check the ETA when I’m accepting the job, before I leave the house, however as soon as I get in the car (2015 MY D4) and ready to join the main road, voice instructions are silent.
On a recent non duty journey I had the wife put the destination in on her phone and sure enough we have voice directions.on my phone we have maps but no voice instructions
So the process of elimination was, her phone isn’t paired with the car, mine is
Unpairing my phone from the car and we have voice instructions back on my phone.
So the question is how do I keep my phone connected for the hands free calling and how do we get voice instructions as the map still shows but no voice back on my phone
Kind regards
Martin

Does voice instructions work from other apps like Google Maps? If not it could be a volume issue where you need to turn up the volume when the app is “talking”.

I would think that the voice directions are being streamed by bluetooth as though it was an audio track as opposed to phone connection. So the directions should be heard if you are using the phone as audio source (bluetooth streaming) but if you are listening to say the radio or CD, then you are missing the streamed content.

Does that make sense?

^^ Thumbs Up

This is the problem.

I noticed it when I was trying to use my phone for directions a few weeks ago - no voice commands.

Worked it out and yes, it provides the instructions via the audio source.

Selected phone as you would music streaming and as if by magic..... Rolling Eyes

Thumbs Up
