Remote park heating
Hi to you all merry Christmas,
I am new to this site and I think is great can't stop reading stuff,
I should be collecting my D4 commercial 2014 next week and I would like Bodsy to fit the remote park heat etc.
Hopefully he could contact me?

Thank you HughMartin for the tutorial! I just bought brand new VPLAX0060 on eBay for £95 (receiver antenna and remote) installed on my 2012 D4 HSE, updated the CCF and it works like a charm. I did struggle to pair the remote with the receiver until I read your post carefully, it need to be done within 6 sec from connecting the power to receiver.

Anyone know if its possible to activate the Timed Climate Control on a D4, which came with the Webasto heater, without installing the remote kit (VPLAX0061)?

Just got an IIDtool so had to try it out. Followed the instructions on GAP's faq page, but not sure if everything went as planned. When I went to save the ccf it did its thing, but then displayed a "upload failed" message. When checking the current config it states that Timed Climate is enabled and FBH is set to "Fitted parking heat".
Tried the park heater and it seems to work. Should I be concerned that I got the error?? First time using the IIDtool so a little scary when you get errors from the ecu...
For 2010 and up vehicles fitted with a FBH (not the electric heater)
IIDTool Menu->Car Config->HVAC Ventilation->
FBH Call Start is equal to Fitted radio. This is the one related to the remote.
Fuel Burning Heater is equal to Fitted parking heat
Timed Climate is equal to Enable

I didn't enable the remote yet.
Read somewhere else that the "upload failed" might not be worth worrying about. Any way to find out what caused the error message? Any cause for concern?
