Timed Climate - Remote Start Upgrade |
|
Morning all,
I've had my Disco 4 Landmark for just over a week now and love the FBH function -
I want to add the remote option - looking at the Land Rover site there are two options with very different pricing for this Timed Climate remote start upgrade , one for Lo line Audio and one for Hi line Audio.
Does anyone now the actual difference between these two parts VPLAX0060 and VPLAX0061?
I'm not really into apps etc so looking for the simple genuine solution as I don't want to jeopardise the warranty , do any of you guys now of any other solutions.
Thanks in advance
Cheers

Thanks Ceekay
Will this plug into the plug in the back of the car without having to 'splice' any wires ? i'm assuming it will still need enabling or is the set up all done via the App.
Cheers

Yep will plug into loom at the rear offside panel but you need to enable it using a IID tool or similar. Setting up the app takes abit longer to get your head around but its not brain surgery.
If you just want the remote fob you can get that instead of the altox I believe its the same process D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo

Thanks ,
just looking for a simple genuine solution that won't affect the warranty, is there an alternative to setting up using the IID tool or perhaps a supply and fit option?

I got the plug in remote module and fob (transmitter) from Bodsy (on here) , just a simple press of button to pair remote and module , works a treat

Thanks ,
I really like the idea of the genuine remote etc but the Altox App also looks interesting if the installation doesn't involve adding or cutting any wires, saves carrying extra fobs etc.
Any ideas on costs to supply and install each? I would usually be happy to carry out the installations but don't have the ability to make any software changes that may be necessary.
Any idea's on the two different part no's for the Land Rover kits?
Cheers

I got the Altox kit from Beanie, and the correct D4 lead from the site shop (Beanie advised which lead).
I already had the ‘Timed Climate’ option on the dash screen.
The lead was a simple plug in, once I found the correct plug in the boot space. Not difficult, I was looking too hard
I followed the instructions that came with the Altox, put £10 on the Giffgaff card that Beanie included, downloaded the app and away we went!

Ok , so no need for any special tools, just plug in and set up? I already have the Timed Climate active , just need to get into the car to set time etc.
Can i ask how much ?

I suggest dropping Beanie a PM to get a price including delivery.
Click on the shop link above to get the adaptor lead.
I'm sure there is a way to search for posts by Beanie, and he is also one of the site sponsors, so scroll down to them.
The other good bit is the GPS with notification if the vehicle moves out of a preset area; info on that in the Altox thread.

You’ll need to have the remote option enabled in the car as it won’t have been enabled from the factory.
Other than that, it’s simple plug in and set up for the Altox or the genuine remote. Bodsys Brake Bible

Ok, Thanks Bodsy,
Are you able to tell me the costs for supply and enabling each option ?
I guess the down side to the Altox option is that both you and the car need to have phone reception to activate the heater, if there isn't any reception is there an alternative to turn on the FBH?
Any other pro's or con's for each option?
Thanks again and my apologies for all the questions.
Cheers
