Welcome

As far as I know, the TMC is received from a radio station, Classic FM I think, follow the options on screen and select Classic FM and all should be well. If not, someone with a brain will be along later.

TMC was only available as standard on the HSE which has premium nav Smile

you would need a TMC module , some most cable and then get it enabled via a faultmate

You may be able to improve your sat nav facilities by unlocking some of the functions ....contact 'Wiggs' or 'Flack' who are site sponsors.

EDIT ...Wiggs beat me to it Smile

Perhaps my email was unclear. The navigation pane on the Sat nav does not have a TMC icon so I cannot proceed in syncing it with any FM station. My questions is how to I activate the Sat Nav so the TMC / RDS Icon appears. Do I need to buy something or subscribe to a TMC provider. The radio gives me Traffic information but is it possible that the software in the radio / satnav need to be upgarded in some way.

As wiggs said you will need the TMC module fitted as a SE did not come with TMC To be quite honest not worth the hassle as it is rubbish anyhow.

Laughing

You need some diagnostic equiptment ( like the faultmate ) to be connected to the car and change the car config file . This will bring the TMC icon on the screen ...however it will be grayed out as the car knows you do not have the correct module attatched.

To fit the module you need to connect into the cars MOST cable ( fibre optic ) .

I just fitted my system with TMC and has wiggs as said you need all the modules and cables and then get it enabled.
The biggest part of installing all the required components is the most optic cable and the coax cable from the tmc amp to the tmc module as you need to route the coax cable through the top tailgate to the moudule, with all the bits you could do it in a morning.
You don't need to subscribe to anything only tune to Classic FM

Hello,

I am ready to install this.....I have all bits required minus the Fakra connectors.

Do you know what Fakra connectors are used on the TMC module & antenna amp ?

I've got plenty of wire & on a trial run it seems to stay in place w/ out the Fakras, but Id like them anyway.

What will I see in the Nav Screen that will let me know TMC is working ? Do I really have to tune to FM ? I have absolutely no clue abt what TMC is, as I have never had a vehicle so equipped.

On the Faultmate......in the ccf file I need to change to "Fitted w/ TMC" & this should work correct ?

Yes just enable it and write the file.. as for the connector just use a sma connector that should work fine, mine had a double plug on it but you use only one of them.
