Perhaps you can settle a myth?
The story goes that the ones around in the south east have the RAI but it isn't actually connected through to the air box, is it true?

Yep that's where the Disco is based and I was working out of there that day, although the photo is on standby at another station. RAI.... Never looked TBH will check it out today but SOP is halfway up the wheels for service vehicles ;0))) if you follow the policy....Karl
Is that a HART resource or your normal frontline RRV?
We have 1 D4 but is a HART resource only. The reset of us Officers/RRV pilots have to bear with a Ford Mondeo/Scoda Octavia Scout selection. From the Factory: '05 Java Black D3 S-spec, Manual, Heated Fr & Rear Seats, Cruise, HK High Line.
Mods from me: D4 Bluetooth PTI, Napa Leather Smooth Wheel & New Gearstick Gaiter, De-tango'ed Light clusters, RRS Grille Mod, Hid's4u L.E.D's in every bulb holder, Centre Cubby Fridge, Colour coded front bumper with front PDC, fogs and halo DRL's. Dash vent illumination mod. More power sockets.
Do quite often get to play in this mind..........its not quite the same but hey at least it does still have a green oval on it From the Factory: '05 Java Black D3 S-spec, Manual, Heated Fr & Rear Seats, Cruise, HK High Line.

Scarab the D4's (my one) has RAI tied into the air intake, the pipe in the wing is a funny sponge thing and then into the air box via the Land shaped pile with a whole load of holes in it for extra air when we use both turbos!!!!! So yes it's connected but it's not watertight. Hope this helps Karl

Thought that would be the case ...the RAI was never designed to be watertight on the D3 either 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Yep, and as we all know that's why it's an RAI and not a Snorkel ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
< ‘tis but a mere scratch …….. it’ll polish out.
