It's always a tricky thing when these cases come up. Grabbing someone leading to them fearing for their own safety falls under the definition of assault - actions that instil fear of attack are as much assault as actually hitting someone. And of course, the gobby git that started it all will be very happy to say "yes" to the pressing of charges.

You make a good point Waldorf. But actions have consequences, even in a free society. Pouring human waste over a memorial to a well regarded person - especially one who has no link to the cause you are espousing - is not normally considered to be "free speech" but rather an act of vandalism.
If she had stood in front of the memorial and spoken her piece, that would have been fine. It's the vandalism that isn't fine. And of course, that's the point of the vandalism - it's the only way for them to make themselves visible because they're a small group of extremists with little media presence otherwise.
As with all extremist measures to be heard, it will actually work against their cause and the only result will be her receiving some form of criminal record.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

I think a few may be missing the point of the Twitter thread I posted yesterday. These two have shown signs of mental health issues and then been marginalised/indoctrinated by the sociopaths behind this campaign.
It's a splinter of a splinter of a splinter of the original group, each division resulting in the most radicalised shrinking their echo chamber until no act seems unreasonable. They then target those who have been seen to be struggling as the patsy for "delivering the message".

I just watched a video on FB where Maddie sets herself alight ... apologies if it's been linked already, and I can't replicate the link for some reason... but it does look to support your view she has mental health issues. She seems surprised that it's painful !!!.
