Top 5 mods for first year of ownership
I'm hoping to be a D4 owner soon and I was wondering what would be the top 5 common things that people typically change/do/modify over the first year or so of ownership?

I guess it depends on what you're going to do with your D4 but here are some ideas. I’d imagine everyone has their own top 5.
- IIDtool
- if old style instrument panel display graphics, upgrade to newer style using IIDtool
- change interior lights to LED, doesn’t cost much and you really get more light
- if you’re going to drive somewhere else than on regular roads, beefier tires
- ditto, more bottom plates for protection
- ditto, side protection tubes or sliders
- if you’re going for longer trips, a roof rack might be useful
- if you have a full sized spare tire, you probably want an anti-theft plate to go with it
Assumption being you’re going to service it like it is a family member
In interests of full disclosure, if I had an unlimited budget I’d get an auxiliary tank and a spare wheel carrier. Out of the list above I’ve done IIDtool, firmware upgrades and LEDs, haven’t needed anything else so far.

unless you buy one with Xenon lights I'd day that mod was the biggest and best you could make in early ownership Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

Or you could just buy a ready modified one which will probably be coming up for sale in the autumn
