top tailgate

Hj folks
Hope you are all keeping well
So my top tailgating won't open on the button.
There us nothing when press it.
However I can get it open using the remote button under the landrover logo.
Any ides?
Also if the switch on the upper tailgate gas to come out
Any tips as I tried removing this before and the
Torks screws were rusted solid and wouldn't move.
So if I got to drill them out is there a replacement that
Will fit the holes I make

Many thanks in advance

You dont need to remove the torx screws the switch can be prized out with a small screwdriver.

Have you tried opening the tailgate, using an apprentice to press both lock/unlock buttons on the dash whilst pressing the switch?

i have been told a ford galaxy switch fits and to fit the switch have look for a youtube video by powerful uk they show you how to do it.

Also if the actuator goes wrong a ford fiesta mk6 boot actuator is the same and only £10 not £97 form Land rover. ( PowerfulUK have a video for that as well)

tip: cut as close to the old switch as possible.

Have fun

F

Tailgate

There is a "How to: tailgate latch replacement" on the site, authored by Disco Mikey. This sorted my issue and was a pretty straightforward procedure. I bought a used actuator from eBay for around £40.
