Group Buy - D4 upgrade to Xenons (NOT adaptives) |
|
Having tickled Nick @ Yeovil (TLO) gently behind the ears he has agreed to do a deal if we can get some serious interest from only 3 or 4 of us (if we get more I guess the price will get even better)
Once numbers are clear (say after the weekend) he will then get the best price for us
I realise that it would be better to know the price first but I don't want to waste the mans time !
so please just post on the thread if there is a probability you would go for a deal
2 quick points
1. These are always in demand and I reckon you will get at least half your money back when you sell the car or take them off and sell them on the forum
2. given Land Rovers recent pricing strategies on parts I don't think they will be getting cheaper any time soon Illegitimi Non Carborundum

Sorry to sound dim, but would these non-adaptive xenons work for a D3 upgrade from standard halogens? If so, I'm definately interested in getting a price......

Like matsquatch, I would be interested if they are a straight swap for halogens on an 07 GS.

I have a feeling some of you may have misunderstood this proposed group buy .
I think the OP (sacimiddx) was offering to organise a group buy for D4 GS owners - with halogen headlamps - to upgrade their D4s to xenon headlamps.
But, of course, I may be wrong.
I'm not sure this was an offer of a group buy to upgrade D3 halogens to xenons. To answer the question, though, yes the D3 non-adaptive xenons are just a straight swap for the halogen units but they will flicker slightly when you switch them on due to the additional burst of current the xenon ballast units require when starting-up. You can have them enabled in the car CCF which will prevent this.

Stupid question, I have a hse d3, it has the lights that turn with the steering, is this the adaptive part?

I am very interested as well.
I'm looking to convert from d3 to d4. I need xenon for LHD, preferably the all new ones (facelift D4).
