Yet another anti 4X4 item on tv

Just watched local Anglia news & they ran an item about residents in north Essesx who were staging a protest about 4X4s & trial bikes ruining their unmade tracks and lanes. They showed a couple of shots of 4X4's ploughing through the mud, & to be fair the tracks were in a very poor state, deeply rutted and sloshy mud, not the sort of place where you would want to walk. The protesters were alleging this was caused by "numerous" 4X4s using the tracks continuosly, all through the night, & at high speed. A horse rider was interviewed who claimed the conditions caused by these 4X4's were making it difficult for horses to use. To be fair the t.v. did interview a man from an Essex off road club who was allowed to put his case. The last man interviewed, stated 4X4's were even coming over from Europe to drive on their tracks & it was causing Essex County Council millions each year, which he as a ratepayer was paying.

I'm afraid 4X4 enthusiasts are just like any other group in society.

95% decent and law abiding
5% total to$$ers.

(Apart from Greenpi$$ where it's the other way round)

It will be people who don't belong to any recognised club doing the damage and it's us tarred with the same brush.

Just as long as we do our bit!

30+ D3's and RRS's would take a year driving round there to make as much of a 'footprint' as a Challenger II can in an hour.... and that's before any live firing (the Challenger II, not Ken Rolling Eyes )

I think the greenies and the anti 4x4 brigade looking at some of the pics posted would have a field day with disco3 is all. Wrongly interpreted or not.

I already have my coat on by the way... ready for the door to be opened.

I already have one of those. It's a d3 at full chat, holding it in first with command shift. With the aircon on. Shocked
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
