Key falling to bits

Has anyone had issues with their D4 (MY12) key falling apart. The outer black plastic/rubber cover that covers all the buttons is coming off exposing the buttons.
Any thoughts.

Thanks Nick, my key is not that design, mine is the newer design as per the 8 speed boxes. Is the issue the same?

My MY2012 Key is fine no signs of wear, but to be honest it stays in my pocket 99% of the time so I'm really touching it to wear it out Thumbs Up

I should imagine that it rubs when it stays in your pocket with the movement of your clothing.

Especially if you wear skin tight skinny jeans, leather chaps or PVC.

Thinking about it, I don't think I have ever pressed any of the buttons on the key.

Perhaps I should test one of them one day!

I got a silicon cover from fleebay it's great protects the key and stops any bits coming off.

And there are others. Good quality and fits well.
