I've been running on V-Power diesel for most of the last two thousand miles are so, economy is up very slightly and engine runs smoother. Though I find standard Shell diesel is better than many branded fuels anyway and Shell is normally cheaper (around here anyway) than many of the other big names The End

The one time I filled up with shell diesel extra (different to v-power diesel I think), there definatly was a noticable difference in engine noise, especially when the engine was cold. Never noticed a difference with BP Ultimate though, other than the higher price!IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!

Esso Energy is also pretty good and priced at normal diesel prices.
Ultimate does give me a much longer range compared to all the others but is expensive.
Both give smoother engine and an apparent very slight increase in power / response.

shell extra used shell v-power in france as usual GB behind the times in upgrades.
Mine has run from new on Shell normal diesel. Nearly 13,000 miles in 6 months and over 30 MPG - cant' complain. Loads of points too !!!"To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Slightly OT but Shell have recently released this superb video to celebrate 60 years of collaboration with Ferrari
