front aux and cigarette lighter not working |
|
I have only 2 power points on my d3, the front 2, aux and cig, no power and the fuses are all good, checked them, as book says,
Fuse 19 - Socket accessory - Row 2
Fuse 34 - Socket accessory - Row 1
Fuse 47 - Socket accessory - Row 3
Fuse 55 - Cigar lighter
took the centre console out and all wires are connected to each power point,
the courtesy light round the light doesn't even work. Have seen all the posts on this but nobody has posted if they got theirs fixed and if it was unrelated to the fuses, any help welcome,

Have you checked the return to Ground/chassis? Dave

Multimeter set to resistance, check between the black wire and chassis for zero
While you are about it with that multimeter, set to DC volts and check between the red wire and chassis for 12V.
Don't forget that your key may have to be in and turned to Pos I or II to have voltage at certain points around the car. Not for courtesy lights however as they come on with keys out.
Row 1 is the front console Aux 12V
Row 2 is the rear of the centre console
Row 3 is in the boot
Cigar lighter is front console cigar marked 12V socket
With Aux and Cigar as well as Courtesy lights all not working I would suspect a common ground point break. Dave

Same problem here after I tried a (faulty?) 12V/230V converter in both aux socket and cigar lighter.
Fuses are all okay.
Did you solve the problem?

Hi ,
D3 2.7 5 seats. 2008 year.
Currently, I have a similar problem and would appreciate any help to solve it. My third 12V auxiliary socket in the luggage area does not work. So far, I have checked that the ground is fine and the fuse 47 in the front is good. I'm an amateur, so please be patient What else can I check? I believe it would be useful to check the voltage between the "plus" from the rear socket and the fuse directly using a multimeter, right? Is there anything else I should check? Maybe will be good to check also the relays but i am not sure if there are exist and where in the rear .....
thank a lot in advance
