Swiss diesel prices??

Looking to do a little trip through the SW Alps on the way to the Pyrenees next month (it is kind of on the way from my start point) and was wondering what diesel prices were generally like on normal roads. Not getting a vignette so not after Mway prices. One site has it at CHF1.90/ltr, another says diesel (& petrol) prices have gone up massively recently (32% in two months since June!! http://www.drive-alive.co.uk/fuel_prices_europe.html Shocked ) . Coming in good bit W of Basel, going past Jungfrau & hanging a coupe of rights & down the Sion valley, with jaunts off those. Any thoughts on fuel prices or is it best to stick to French stuff on the way in?

TIA

D

CHF 1.83 a fortnight ago got .10 off a litre as well by buying 20 bottles of beer in Interlaken.

I have a vignette for sale in the other section.

Cheers for the info, doing this old style on the normal roads so don't need a vignette, got loads of time so in bimble mode. Smile

A bit variable.

At the moment you can find it a 1.85 to 1.95 CHF

Is that website right that they have gone up so much in a couple of months? €0.20 a ltr cheaper in Froggieland so will aid paying off their debt.

I think I paid 1.92 last fuel up. Fuel up in France for sure.

Italians still rolling in to fuel up near me though.

16 June 2013: I paid CHF 1.78/liter yesterday in Reinach at the Reudi Rüssel (Aarauerstr. 13, 5734 Reinach) which is a bargain because I went for a drive this morning and most places are between CHF 1.83-1.89/liter.

Latest update for anyone heading on to the continent for ski trip at Christmas:

diesel prices
- France - 1.30eur (non motorway); 1.47eur (motorway)
- Switzerland - 1.83-1.87chf

If you are driving to Basel the new N59 is superb from Nancy to Selestat (well almost). The tunnel cost me 17.10eur with the Disco pulling a very large trailer (2700kg) - and sticking to around 60-65mph.

I managed the full 775km trip from north of Zurich to Calais in 9:15 - and returned in the same time.

For fuel:
- In Calais (tunnel) use the Auchan on Av. Roger Salengro
- In Calais (ferry) use the Carrefour on Rue Yervant Toumaniantz (the turn off for the stadium)
- Using the route above - on the N44 between Veuve and Chalon de Champagne there is a Total Access service station

Hope that helps
