| How do you know if the egr valves are working or not |

What would the symptoms be if one or both egr valves were not working properly. My car drives well but has 122 k now on the clock . Is there any test to check them. How would I know if they were or weren't working ? Landrover Discovery 3 TDV6 S 7 seat Automatic

One symptom is a loss of power below 2200 rpm and a rise in fuel consumption this occurs when an egr sticks open,at this point the engine management codes need to be read to tell you right or left.if either is stuck shut you need to read codes anyway.
