Suspension failure again.

My LR3's suspension just failed again. Total failure, drive <30 kph.

The dealer has it again and thinks it will take days to figure out what might be causing the problem. Meanwhile I drive the service manager's Range Rover.

And they checked the ECU connection ?

Sorry to ask again but this seems to be the main culprit. Mine's done over 2K miles since this was fixed and is still OK.

They tell me they did. But they are even going to change the ECU now I am told... not sure I am happy to be an experiment on wheels but we'll give them one more chance.

Whats the law in Canada? Don't you have a lemon law or similar, or am I thinking of USA?

Hypothetical question - If you could, would you now ditch the Disco and get your money back, or would you let them try their hardest to fix it, even if you are effectively the guinea pig?

Well, there's no lemon law in Ontario - just in several US states.

I would not want my money back but one more strike and I'll want a new Land Rover. I drive in some pretty far terrain out of the city and absolutely cannot afford to be a guineapig for this type of failure - thank God every failure has occured within 5km of thde dealership. I could have been miles and miles away, or on highways driving fast. This time they really have to find what it is!

The LR, btw, is much better on the road trhan the 2001 Range I now drive temporarily. Sounds orough, feels old and heavy: wow the LR is a great car, better than the Range Rover. When it works!

I totally agree with you Michael. You cannot afford to be left stranded in the middle of nowhere with this fault. Why don't you send another fax??

Well, one more chance - at least I shall wait until they analyse it to bits again.

I have told the dealer that if they find nothing specific and if it fails again, I'll want a new car. If as they say they have no new cars, well then money back, letters to CEO again, etc. I love this car to bits (driving the 2001 Range Rover shows me how superior the LR3 is), but it does have to work and I cannot be an experiment for the technicians.
