Having seen a pair fitted to Hanchedene's Defender the other weekend at the Chepstow camp, I was extremely impressed with the brightness, and the build quality. The beam on these things is absolutely awesome! In fact, I would say they are brighter than the Lightforce 240 HID's that I currently have on my Defender. The big difference is that the LED do not need 10 seconds warm up time like the HID's! so its instant blinding light. 8)
They are also very slim front to back which will mean they will not stick out forward to much when fitted to a Disco. This is something that I find happens with the Lightforce and other lamps I have looked at.
He says he needs 10 to get a discount group buy. So who else is interested? I we can get 10 interests between here and Def2 then a good deal is on offer at £400 the pair plus postage.

Would these mount to the Landrover bumper mounts? Or do you have a cunning way of mounting them? With a few Mods.

Not straight onto the standard mounts. They have a peculiar fixing arrangement which only works with LR lights. You can adapt them like I did a few years ago to fit some Lightforce lamps. Here is how I did it > http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic30246.h...lightforce
This time I will be making a mounting bar like Russell has done >

They are fitted to the wife's 90 and the light pattern and brightness is outstanding.
Gareth are you fitting these to your disco?

Yes, I am intending to. My Defender already has Lightforce 240 HID lamps.

I too saw these lights on defender2 whilst searching the many lighting threads, I noticed yesterday he had started another group buy also.
Whilst searching the many variables, I found a brand called Wilderness lighting who make led lighting systems, and are pretty expensive also.
Funnily enough there is an led lighting test in Landrover international this month, testing 16 varieties of lights, and lightbars, the below model being one of them.
Now to me, the lights offered by WelshSD at £400 a pair look identical to the Wilderness ones, casing, bracket shape ( which is pretty unique) and the only difference seems to be some sort of branding top and bottom in the casing, whereas wilderness ones are blank.
So do we assume they are the same Chinese supplied lights with a hefty mark up by Wilderness , or purely coincidental .
(The price of £300 in the below advert is PER light!)
I too wanted some of WekshSD's lights when I first saw the pics he posted, they look amazing 8)

The lamps I saw on Hanchedenes Defender were unbranded. The ones in the pics have Aurora on them, but yes I think they are all potentially the same units from same manufacturer. However, I am still impressed by the quality. You don't need a big name brand to be good quality. All the similar lights I hav seen with various suppliers are priced around the 600- 800 per pair mark. These at 400 seem excellent value.
I have put the same GB on Def2 to try and get the necessary 10 interests.

Hi seen those lights and they look good. Might go for a set after seeing what the lights on the new bus are like when she arrives in June.
been doing a bit of surfing and seen these ones on an aussie site. Look a bit similar but are branded bullet
have a look on www.edisons.com.au
No idea how to attach a contact to the exact page or put up the photos that come with the add.
