The NFU 5% discount is LR subsidised so arguably you could get both the BASC deal from the dealer and then the NFU on top. In the past I have negotiated a discount with the dealer and then thrown in the NFU on top, they don't seem to mind that because they don't pay the %5 LR does.

BASC have around 6% through their membership system. It's not an exact figure but they're quoting around £3k off the current HSE.@ £50k.
Is that real? It only costs £66 for individual member ship of BASC so that would be the best ROI I've ever come across!

Last time I looked list price for a 2013 MY boggo (if there's such a thing!) HSE was £52,475 not the number on their website.

I was quoted December delivery for an HSE/XS and no discount. Didn't push it as I'm now waiting for the D5.

Looking at the deal on the BASC page, the company offering the deal (http://www.tysoncooper.com/) are just a broker so I would imaging you would get that sort of discount without joining the BASC or indeed from another broker like http://www.buyacar.co.uk/Cheers Ian

Find out when the dealers end of fiscal quarter is as well, usually the best time to visit on the last few days of that quarter to discuss the best prices
My only concern in waiting for a D5 is the price jump, as demonstrated by the RRS -> new RRSDisco3 is now gone but not forgotten. Waiting for Disco6 with full aluminium construction weight reduction and hybrid engine...

Interesting - a local dealer (with whom I had been discussing a new 2013MY HSE) contacted me earlier today now that the 2014MY pricing is officially out and is offering a £3.5k discount against a new HSE with about £3k of options (admittedly I've left in GAP as something I'd want, though will probably buy that policy elsewhere given the LR pricing; options also include dealer fit side steps where I presume there's a good margin). This assumes November build, no p/x and 4 year PCP with the Land Rover Freedom finance package (currently 6.9% APR to end Sept)
His previous best offer against the 2013MY was a £4k discount (and the best p/x deal I'd received), so almost as good.
Any advance on that?!
