Help with paint choice?????
Evening chaps,
After owning a D3 and a now a current D4 HSE in Buckingham Blue (61 plate)and now after a lot of persuasion from the wife I have bitten the bullet and placed an order for a brand new HSE.
Options;
Tow pack
Side steps
Mudflaps
Extended roof rails
Premium Arabica brown leather with almond/walnut trim
20" diamond turned alloy wheels
The big decision is colour, I've plumped for Luxor Premium and still have plenty of time to change, I love the luxor on the new Range Rover and feel it would suit the new Disco look, I know there is a big following for the corris and scotia grey, not sure what to do?????do I stick with my gut feeling?????
Your opinions matter, so please post,I don't want to get it wrong after parting with £55k
My Part Exchange
Cheers

Not my cup of tea I'm afraid, but then I have no taste whatsoever (other than in women in case SWMBO gets hold of this!)
I think a D4 needs something a lot bolder/more masculine Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE

Having looked at it again, I suspect it would be OK from the front but, to me,side-on it is just too much. It may be a 'marmite' colour however.
At the end of the day it is your car so please make sure you go for what you want! You're spending more than I have paid for any 4 of the many cars I have ever owned (ie more than 40)!Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE

Love the Luxor colour, fell for it instantly when I saw one in the showrom when I was ordering my replacement XS. Found it extremely difficult to justify the extra cost though so stuck with my first choice of Corris in the end.

Mrs Oswiperus says she really likes it, I think it's ok and will probably grow on me.

Morning chaps,
Thanks for the feedback!
I've slept on it and I'm still a little undecided, I've had a Buckingham blue for three years and obviously it looks really good once polished, but what I did find hard to deal with was to keep the paint work in top form, for example, swirl marks would be visible in the sunshine after washing, light scratches would show up easily, it really did irritate me, hence the light golden Luxor choice!!!

Interesting. My immediate reaction was that it looked darker than mine but could be just a difference in our screens, I suppose.2010 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand on GY DTs (was on GG ATs)

I would like to actually see one, but from the picture at least I really like the colour and you are unlikely to see too many others that colour.

To settle my nerves, I've driven a few miles today and actually been to see one in the flesh and I really do like the look of it, different colours break through at different angles once the sun catches it which may not be a lot in the UK
Like you say Fitzy, I don't think it'll be a common colour which suits me down to the ground mate!!!
Cheers
