Window/Sunroof Auto-closure?

Has anyone discovered if/how it is possible to auto-close any open windows or sunroof when locking the car? Almost all cars in the past (certainly German makes) just require the remote button to be held, although I don't think thi sworked on the Disco II either. May well be some undocumented feature that is activatedby an inaccessible menu!? Wink

That's aj interesting question. I think only the driver's window auto-closes. This is, I think, a deliberate decision implmented in software to reduce the chance of US lawsuits.

In related news: it IS possible to disable the "two step locking", so that just one press unlocks all doors. I find this a great advantage over US cars that always need the silly two clicks.

I too had wondered about this.

As mentioned I have had BMW's in the past that could do this feature but my 2003 BMW M3 Cab does also not support this funtion.

Perhaps again its due to feature programing or may be legal restrictions.

However what I really wanted to acehive is the ability to lock all the doors and have the mirrors autofold to the park position.

One of the guys who works for me has just picked up his 2005 BMW X3, and that feature was implemented as standard.

Miffed that one of my guys has trumped me with a car that cost him 10K less than my own!!!

Oh well.

Yeah but his X3 will get stuck in the nearest puddle Wink

I make a point of parking my D3 next to an X3 in our car park at the office... makes it look very small and silly !

My Audi did the same with the windows - hold lock to close and unlock to open all.
