I thought it was a polished performance from Popham and McGovern ...can't wait for the future 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

As soon as you take the pilot out of an aeroplane a lot of the systems suddenly need to increase in integrity....cant wait for the first lawsuite when the wifi link cocks up and someone gets run over

what at 1mph 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
Is that it? A big reveal of a name? If that's it then they are guilty of wasting my life - I thought it was going to be a reveal of one of the new models (the fl2 replacement which I already knew was going to be called Discovery Sport) but the nam only!?
Well, they had my attention. But 15 minutes later I'm wondering what I waited for
Perhaps more coffee is needed.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

DG ....if I was doing the failure analysis it would be failure of wifi link ...highly probable...failure of car onboard control system ...low probability...probability of person being in the wrong place.....low probability ....lets say 1 in 100000 ...multiplied by 15 years at 20000 cars world wide at 1 hour per year gives 3 accidents ...say 1 minor injury, 1 medium and 1 fatal?.....therefore not impossible.

So a much lower risk than if the driver was behind the wheel then 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Yep but its bound to happen in the US and Land Rover will be taken to court due to a design fault and so on and so on ..
Then Land Rover are forced to pull out of the US, global sales of town-biased cars drop, Land Rover are forced to consider a basic, utilitarian model to attract new markets....
Win-Win I say I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I take your point but you would hope that fail safes would be built in like loss of signal = automatic lock on drive systems 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
Where I come from, that 'event platform' is known as a 'step' Cheers Ian

Yes but to get very high integrity like safety critical software in certain aircraft systems costs millions and millions to develop...probably too much for the car industry especially Land Rovers which are not going to be very high volume sellers...even in aircraft we assume we will lose x aircraft in the life of the whole fleet ....nothing is totally safe
