But all you have seen is a prototype ....I've no doubt that the range that we will eventually see will meet the expectations of all but the most die hard beard lover
Actually its not even a prototype. Its a concept previewing design cues and ideas that mostly will never make production... at least not in the next few years.
I don't believe this is an LRX / Evoque scenario where concept became reality (body design wise).
There are many elements of this concept that will of course make production. Proportions, silhouette, architecture of the interior etc.
One thing that is very clear, boxy is out. Curves and 'stance' are in at Land Rover.
I'm keen to see what the 'robust and rugged staple of the range' will look like. Thats the one we will be interested in. Not the Discovery Sport or the direct replacement for the current D4 (which is reported to be a very premium vehicle)... unless you have the cash of course
Overall I'm 60/40 on the concepts look. I was 'WTF' when I first saw it. Its a grower looks wise and as we get used to the overall design cues (which will make production) we will grow to love it.
For example, the front on view is very different, yet very familiar. Same with the 'direct rear on' view...
Until we actually see the new Discovery Sport (Freelander replacement) at the end of the year, we don't really know how Land Rover have taken this concept into reality for its first of four new Disco's.

that was the Disco concept that was also shown on the BBC midlands new last night, along with the see through bonnet (by using a heads up display and front cameras that showed you the road in front of the car, and gave the effect of being able to see down through the bonnet, so that as you crested a mound, you could see the track falling away, instead of like now, when all you can see is sky.

First pic I've seen with a humanoid in the shot. Brings it a bit more into scale, well for me anyway as I thought it was smaller than this makes it look.
