Bluetooth and phone book? |
|
OK so I now have Bluetooth - great. Works fine with my Razr.
But do I see that there is no way to access the phone book, or to enter phone book entries in the car? So that I must dial home and office manually every time (which is surely a safety risk)? Surely not?

Try setting voice tags for your most used numbers.
"Phone, store name"
- (name please)
"Office"
etc.
Your car can store number independently of the phone. Very useful. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

You can use the car phone book
You have to use the voice Recognition command to store your favourites contacts.
About 50 name and corresponding numbers can be stored in the car phone book.
This car phone book is not link with the GSM phone book so that if you change a number (for the same contact) in the GSM you will have to update the contact in the car phone book.
With bluetooth you can’t use the history of the Sim like missed call and so on "Lady": Discovery 3 HSE Seven TDV6 Tonga Green.
Options : Automatic Gearbox, Premium navigation system, Personal telephone integration system, Park distance control front, Powerfold exterior mirrors, Sunroof plus Alpine roof, Lower centre console cooler box, Cold climate pack, Full size spare wheel.

I have tried the voice recognition as an alternative. I must be doing something wrong because it took me 5 times to add a number to the phone book. Now I can't get the very nice gentleman (or lady) to dial the number I have tried switching language to US then back to UK but even that doesn't seem to do the trick. 2007 LR3 HSE - Zermatt Silver

I had similar probs with it understanding my scots accent but surprisingly, setting the satnav voice to US male and it suddenly understands me.......don't know why but it now works and is fantastic (though I still hate the way it calls roundabouts "traffic circles") 2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

It works fine for me, but only if I omit the word 'phone'...
saying 'Dial Number' responds 'phone dial number' etc. If I accidentally say phone, I'm met with a frosty 'Sorry!'
Here's hoping the 2008 bluetooth phonebook solution flows backwards through previous model years. Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?

I doubt the 08MY PTI implementation will be backwards compatible, I suspect it's new hardware as well as software. Assuming it's the same or similar to what's in the FL2 it'll be good The End
