Sump guard genuine

Just spotted this on eBay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DISCOVERY-3-Sump-Gua...dZViewItem

£180 from Stratford on Avon

I'm not brave enough to take my D3 serious offroading, but I'm sure plenty of you on the board would benefit from this...
 Discovery 3 tdv6 7 seat Buckingham Blue
Had it since new - sold Jun 17 after 12 years and 214,000 miles

Does look very similar to the ones fitted to the G4 Disco3s

Does anyone seriously want it or should I be the one to blow £180?

If ones of us gets it we may be able to find someone to manufacture copies a bit cheaper

No problem, if he wants measurements I believe I may have just bought the perfect template Very Happy

I may have to make some minor modifications to allow for the nudge bar, though the G4 D3s have the A-Bar fitted which may have the same mounting points

That would be more of a radiator guard than a sump guard. My sump is already covered by a steel plate. Although this looks to attach to it?

Ducati, the add on protection will covers the oil cooler and intercooler I think. As you say it has quite a good sump protector already.

Is this something useful or just for the hard core off roader types ? Would it invalidate warranty and cause insurance problems ?

Shouldn't effect insurance or invalidate warranty, but are you really going to bash the rocks?

Unless you are going to off road in a quite serious way, the D3 is reasonably equipped. What I may do next off road trip though is place a sack in front of the radiator, oil cooler and intercooler to stop the grass getting into the rad. It can be removed afterwards with the dust and grit. Has to be a loose knit one though.
