Valve Block Cleaning? + Cable test route |
|
Hi all
On-going suspension issues... you all know the score... Boing! Oh the Orange Sign.. Great!!!
Today I Have removed the front valve block and its got more white dust in it than Gordon Ramsey's toilet cisterns.
I will order new seals for the Front and back, however I want to get it tested and the seals will take a few days to arrive.. so the question is what is the best thing to clean the rubber seals with? WD, Brake Cleaner, Soapy Water, Silicone Spray etc.. I know its a dry system so it will need to be thoroughly dried afterwards...
One more question, if I may.. as the wheel arch is stripped out etc I jut want to double check the wires to the block for continuity. So one end is at the plug... but where do you trace those wires back to in order to test them?
All help is greatly appreciated

When I looked at my valve block (funnily enough, while the seals were on their way in the post), I thought they looked fine, cleaned the block, it actually wasn’t too bad with dust just a small amount. Didn’t think I needed seal kit, reassembled, went through the hassle of taking it down off axle stands etc, guess what. Same problem, so I had to do it all again and replace the seals. My lesson was to order the parts before I take it apart
Good luck with repair.

Thanks all
Valve blocks all cleaned.. I used a combo of Acetic Acid and then Silicon Grease to 'mop up' the small partials on a paper towel.
The Mr Bodsy Video is Top Notch
Thanks for the Route Info DM. SO to trace check the continuity I need to take the battery out etc to get to the bulkhead ECU.. Oh Darn 1 TR6 Rusting away quietly
