I 'm looking at 3 wolf packs with various cr  p, 2 jerries and a spare . Is this OK
Also what roof rack do you have ?

FR Wind Cheetha - Full length.
2x Jerry Cans, 40L Water, 1 4.5Kg Gas, 1x Spare, 1x 40Kg Tent + ground sheet, 1x Pop-up Toilete tent, FR Awening, 2x Fold Chairs, Plenty of fire wood...

Anything i like
we have the FR windcheeta, same as Ironman (LR one got crushed by Mrs. B)
for trips out of SA:
FR Featherlite rooftop tent
Spare wheel (not for long!)
Gas cylinder (#7 is enough for 3 weeks plus)
firewood along the way
various curios if possible
No need for jerry's, 'cos we got the FR long range tank
for trips in SA:
nothing, 'cos its all in the trailer (including the spare wheel

Also got the FR Wind Cheetha - Full length.
For overlanding trips we normally have the following.
4 x jerry cans
60 l water
2 x Cadac bottles
6 x ammo boxes with all kitchen and food stuff
4 x Camping chairs
Now after getting the Commander we still have the following on the RR
4 x jerry cans
2 x Cadac bottles
1 x Spare

by the way - looks like many people carry water on the roof.
Did you know that you can fit 2 x 40litre plastic containers (the kind that look like a double jerry can) in the space the centre seat would normally occupy?
I have used this many times on long trips and it works great. I think there may be pics in my gallery if not will post them once i get in front of a pc again.

That is exactly why I wanted to see what people load on top - LR is extremely conservative in their ratings IMHO

Have any of you that are "overloading" changed your roof-rails to the FR ones? If so, does it help, or are the standard rails strong enough?
I've heard that the low roof-weight limit is there to protect the glass/perspex roof from cracking.

the LR limits are a bit silly, Heine.
That's why I never overload
When fully laden (not often) I carry on full length FR windcheetah roofrack:
2 water jerry cans,
4 diesel jerry cans,
6th spare wheel,
two safari bow tents,
1 ammo crate (tools, lamps, etc),
5 chairs,
table,
braai grid, wood;
tarpaulins, etc; gas bottle, stuff (spade, etc).
5 roll-up mattresses and 5 sleeping bags, (& later clothing/laundry bag as well).
sometimes 1-3 of my offspring
I thought the 80kg limit is for the LR roofrack only

I have FR rails as they are apparently stronger . I was also a bit worried about the glass roof , but it looks like AP and Tiaan have answered that question 8)
