Xenon failure, after a few minutes?

Hi all,
Have noticed over the past few weeks that one of my xenons turns off after a few minutes use, I have recently changed the bulbs to Osram CBIs and have not had a real chance to see how much better they are at night.

Anyways, any thoughts? The light will power up and will flash but will then turn off after a few minutes driving / use. It does not happen every time but it seems to be coming more regular.

Is it a ballast on the way way out, are they easy to come by and are they easy to replace?

Many thanks in advance, I had a look through the search function but not much similar..

Checked it again, one side if shutting down after a couple of minutes even with the new bulbs.

Has anyone come across this before? What is involved with changing a ballast unit?

I fitted night breaker unlimited into mine about 4 weeks ago and fingers crossed all is well, I have not changed the ballast but it looks like a simple job but I stand to be corrected.

Looking at it, the ballast is clear and would appear easy enough to swap. Just want to be sure that is the issue.

Also, where best to get a ballast and what are the costs involved . . . . ?

Had similar problem on my FFRR.

Changed the bulbs for some ebay ones - not the cheapest, but about 15 quid each - still the same - bought Philips Bulbs from Ebay - problem solved. So could be a dodgy bulb... Have you tried swapping them left to right and see if the problem swaps sides?

Will try swapping them, but I put in the Osram CBI bulbs that are recommended on here to replace the original bulbs and the problem still exists. In other words, the same side is failing after a few minutes with the old and new bulbs.

Might give swapping them a shot to see but would still be interested in hearing where is best / cheapest for ballasts, in case that is the issue.
