Automatic suspension failure after steering rack change

Hi all

Disco 3 - 2007 HSE

I've replaced my disco's steering rack today, and I'm getting suspension warning failure, locked at normal height message, and an amber light on the dash (the one with two arrows next to the car on each side).

Had no issues previously, I wonder if when I removed the rack I pulled a cable out of its socket, I removed the rack from the drivers side.

Can you guys share an idea of what could be causing it pls?

Had a quick scan with my OBD2 reader, no issues.

Thanks

Lucio

Steering angle probably needs resetting. And tracking I would think too. Thumbs Up

Hi anglefire

Thanks for your quick response.

How do I reset the steering angle pls?

Went for a spin now, and tried to replicate the issue, but no warning light this time, however I was traveling a bit then lowering, then travelling a bit raising to normal, then to off-road, then normal, access mode, then the last one was normal and I got a message:

"Suspension raising slowly"

Do you think I might have damaged the air line?

By the way have done alignment/tracking after the rack replacement.

Thanks

Lucio

Steering angle needs a diagnostic tool - IID, MSV, Nanocomp (I Assume) or any one of other proper tools.

Depends where you are but someone should be able to do it for you easily enough.

If you have raised and lowered the car several times, then the compressor can't cope - might mean it is on the way out or just a little tired! You won;t have damages a pneumatic pipe as if you had the chances are you would hear it and the car wouldn't raise at all Whistle

All sorted, I've bought the JLR + Mongoose lead and reset the steering sensors.

TBH quite shocking, centre the steering wheel hit the OK button on JLR and that's it!

Whilst I was in there with the JLR, I've set:

SatNav on the move
3 flashes indicators
enabled reversed camera
reset all warnings

Job well done!
