Anyone know the location of the external temperature sensor?

Sad to say I had a mishap commuting home this evening and my right front bumper and headlamp assembly made an unfortunate acquaintance with the rear bumper of a late-model GMC pick-up. The headlamp assembly requires replacement, although it is still servicable (it's cracked a bit around the high beam lamp). There are a few minor scapes and depressions in the bumper cover on the right side, but no major damage and no apparent structural impact under the skin, although it was obviously deflected and has recovered. On the dash readout, the external temp. reads "--F" now, so I'm assuming the temp. sensor took one for G_d and Country. Given the location of the damage, the sensor must be in the general area of the R headlamp assy.,but I can't see it. Anyone happen to know its whereabouts? Thanks for any help.

Another possibility. The wiring for the sensor does run over to the right hand side where it plugs into the vehicle loom, so maybe this connection or the wiring has been damaged. The wiring runs from the connector across to the air ducting and then back inwards to the sensor.

Thanks all. Especially for the photo. After checking with the dealer and looking at the global technical reference and these posts, I still could not locate the sensor on my March build 2005 V8 SE. I removed the grill, then the headlamp assys. then the bumper cover. Eureka! The sensor is in directly in the middle, in front of the radiator and down low-behind the bumper cover and also behind an air dam thing. The sensor was unharmed in my collision, but in tracing the wiring back below the right headlamp, I found one of the two wires to the ambient air temp. sensor had been severed by the bumper cover striking the semi-hard plastic/rubber air dam mentioned above. In fact, the wire was broken precisely at the spot where the red line labeled "wiring to sensor from connector" touches the air dam in bkehoe's photo, above. I've repaired the wires and the temp sensor is again working. I unfortunately found a bunch of broken plastic spacers (mounted on the hoodlatch panel), that look to be part of an impact absorbtion system. I suppose I should replace those. Also, the biggest drag is that I have a very slight deflection and a small crack in the magnesium hood latch panel. That is a major part and lots of stuff is mounted to it. Looks like I'm headed to the body shop after all, even though I had hoped the damage was light enough I might have avoided it.
