Wandering in lane/ possible suspension issues
Took my d3 up the m27 this morning. It’s the first real day drive I’ve done where the traffic was moderate. I was doing about 65 and I had to keep adjusting the steering wheel to stay in my lane. The car seemed to be very slow to respond to wheel inputs and when I did it was quite an obvious movement. Now I’m guessing that due to the fact the car is 14yr old the bushes are on their backside and need replacing. Has anyone else had this issue too and what have they done to rectify it? I have seen people fitting polybushes, does anyone have a rough cost?Black disco3 XS

Almost certainly worn bushes, likely to be rear upper arms when worn then the rear self steers. Advanced factors sponsors will give you an idea of costs parts wise. Hours for the job can be a lot not the easiest job to do.

I thought I would be bushes. As for the HGV rutting, That was one of my thoughts but it happens on normal roads at normal speeds too. What’s the drive feel like if going to poly bushes? Is it worth it?Black disco3 XS

Wobble
Check out your steering rack inner ball joints. Mine was in the garage yesterday to check the bushes before the mot and they are all ok. But when they wobbled the front wheels the steering rattled like a good one.
Booked it in to have new ones installed, the indi chap recons an hour and a half to do so he is ordering in genuine parts for me.Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch 😂

I had tyre wear and play in the steering, checked the track rods and they were fine.

Is it the inner track rod end? They rods that come out of the rack can be changed and they have a ball joint affair with a cup type nut. I bet You can buy them from advance factors or Duckworth spares
