If your is the same as mine the trip reset is the button on the end of the indicator stalk I think. Press to scroll through and hold down to reset.
Not sure about the fuel question, I've been low but never chanced it

I take the range as "Empty" as the actual gauge has been below the red and range still stated 10 miles - wouldn't risk going further than this.
I do know that a few on here have done quite a few miles when the range has stated '0'
+1 for press and hold the button at end of indicator, stick into MPG first, then you'll see it re-set to 0 Iggy/Ieuan

I find with mine I do need to hold the button down for a good few seconds before it resets itself.
As for the range, I find mine often doesn't give a low fuel warning until the range is in the mid-teens and given I can never fill the tank to anywhere near the stated capacity there must still be a lot of fuel remaining, but having only had mine for about 6 or 7 months I am yet to test this out.
In my last car (not a Land Rover) driving from Cornwall to London late one night I ended up doing about 60 miles with the range on zero (long story and didn't do much for my blood pressure).Andy

The D4 reserves a lot more fuel than the D3. The range to go is based on a rolling average and is independent of the warning light, which is based on volume. The fuel burned by the FBH is calculated separately and the amount is deducted from the fuel burn figure calculated in the IPC.
You cannot realistically run a D3/D4 physically out of fuel. The engine ECU fakes running out of fuel whilst leaving enough litres in the system to fill the swirl pot,LP and HP systems in order to protect them.
