2014MY...its finally arrived
Picked up the 2014MY disco today.
I have to say I like it...ive already found the lane monitoring useful when a fool in a vw was being a fool trying to overtake!
The engine seems smoother and more powerful than the 2013 sport, there is possibly a bit more body roll but the brakes seem very positive (although its done 12 miles so they should be!). Generally it seems quiet and comfortable - having had sports, the leather seems softer in side.
The stereo is much better than the sport, sound is great. ECO stop start, annoyed me after its second activation in 1 mile - its turned off!! the light in the centre of the dash is then very annoying - but less than the eco setting.
A change in the infotainment is the accept screen is now a physically acknowledgement the moment you turn the car on (not just on the sat nav as before). It was annoying on the sat nav, I think im going to wait for judgement, but I can see WHY ON EARTH, you would put a warning (that has to be clicked) on the screen before you can listen to the radio.
Cameras and associated stuff is cool, apparently the lights look cool and im taken on the DISCOVERY text on the bonnet.
Im surprised the central screen between the rev and speedo isn't in colour like the Freelander, but that's no issue.
The new mirrors seem bigger and I prefer them
Apparently its now an Online service record, although there is still a book, apparently service records and stamps are not kept in the book any more...so that might be interesting!
I don't like the head rest in the rear how they don't fold down, is this something all discos do or new to the 2014...in the RRS they would push down to be in line with the seat - a much better arrangement
Im also currently having an interesting issue (waiting for Pete from LR to respond) apparently the genuine mats in the rear don't fit the 2014MY cars - so mine don't fit despite being brand new.
very early days and the rain is now heavy

First time I've noticed just HSE on the right of lower tailgate. Saves on the letters S, D, & V and numbers 6, 3 & 0. And a decimal point.

Looks lovely. I'm picking mine up in what sounds like a very similar spec on Monday - seems to have been an age waiting.

Cool, apparently im the 4th to collect...Probably a similar spec, you will enjoy im sure Ive waited since October.
To be honest the only thing I would have added, that I haven't got, is the TV - but ill get over that. Everything else is there I need. Although ive just gone out to fit my towbar to find there isn't a foam insert...seriously, this is a paid extra??!!Mike
