My XS has arm rests, I believe they were dealer fitted. Have you spoken to your local dealer about it? Mine was supplied by Colliers in Birmingham, perhaps try them as well....
Cheers

the armrests were part of the electric seat / armrest "factory" option.
I don't believe the arm rests can be retrofitted unless you replace the seat backs - don't know about the electrical side of it though. it might have the wiring loom in place ? Duncan

My seats aren't electric, so would appear they have been retro fitted. I'm the second owner though so can't tell you the ins and outs as to how it was done. Looks nothing other than factory finish though, so was a good job.

hi, all thanks for replying
I am sure you need to change the back support of seat, I spoken to a parts person in LR and they said you would need the complete back metal inner frame work.
I have 2 nice new front arm rests in ebony black but will not fit standard seats!!!!
So wondered if I can fit fully loaded electric seat in replacement for mine or change the backing on my seats!!!! which ever why possible really.
The HSE model comes with lot singing and dancing!!!!
Just wondered if anyone has fitted these arm rests or know of a way too.
Really would like to know if wiring is there or would need to buy a loom to convert to electrical seats.
Thanks again for help

I reckon a couple of 3" screws could sort the armrest problem out.......

See if there is a you tube video about retrimming a seat, would let you know how to get into the seat and maybe get the frame modded to take the arm rest, and take lots of photos to show us how! Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Some one on here retrofitted arm rest on a GS/XS a couple of years ago and it was a really neat job. Try a search.

i am also interested in getting this done as i miss not having armrests . I had them in my previous D3s and range rovers. Have spoke to Nationwide Trim and it costs around £300 to get them retrofitted. I am just trying to justify the outlay at the mo

Hi,
Glad you managed to get hold of Nationwide trim? I tried e-mailing them with no luck, no reply obviously doesn't need the business!!!
I was very interested in fitting both front arm rest in black Leather, I know have both arm rests but was told you need to weld on a bracket or change the complete upright metal inner frame work!!!
Yes £300 is a bit steep, but must admit would really like them fitted.
Good luck

The guy told me that it was a 3hour job to do both front armrests with factory spec items. Thinking about it i don't suppose its a bad price? i can't imagine the armrests being much less than £100 each? Said they were usually booking for 2-3 weeks time

Yes they are about £100 each, surely they will be a extra charge on top of the £300 pounds for fitting, or is that all in!!!!!
If so I can supply mine, and pay £100 for the fitment!!!! top bombing!!!!
Nationwide trim are based at Gloucester area?
Cheers
