Discovery 4 Commerical rear seat conversion |
|
Taking delivery of my new Commerical 4 today, and have plans in place to fit rear seat conversion. However, suddenly dawned on me that insurance could be a problem. Anybody have any advice on how to solve this? My insurance company are pushhing me from pillar to post to avoid me !

Firstly, welcome...
My seats (remember, they are only for occasional use...) were first fitted to my original Commercial by Atlantech who provided a certificate of conformity for N1 seating - our office manager simply passed this to the insurers who are now fully informed and quite happy...
In fact, the only thing they don't like is my involvement with the Northants 4x4 Response Team as (apparently) the thought that I might drive in the snow 'increases the risk profile'.
OK... I'll just get in it and drive to work then - not sure how that makes it any less risky! D4 Commercial - 65 Plate, 2016MY
D5 Commercial - Handed back when I left that job…
D4 Commercial (2014MY) - gone
D4 Commercial SDV6 - Baltic Blue (also gone)
D1 300TDi... 2" lift, HD bumpers (both), detachable tow hitch, 9,500lb winch, 235/85/16 muds and plenty of other toys (gone to make way for the next toy...)
Smiles per Mile - Tornado Motorsports caged Evo 3... 100" Defender look-alike, with Range Rover running gear - all fully IVA'd and registered!

Welcome Jason
I've same colour on order for delivery next month
Post some pictures once you have the car
Not sure who you use for insurance we use NFU & have had no problems with our vans that have seats fitted - the discovery commercial is a van & if you get certificate of fitting as ld above then everyone is covered Previously those that have a special place in my heart
