MOT possible failure
The D4 is in for its MOT on Thursday and I've motive my front near side cv boot is split. Is this a failure?Club Exped trailer

I think it used to be. If not it needs changing quickly, cheaper than a new cv joint. The old ford ones used to be made of chocolate or appeared so
CV boots are a failure - a rubber glue might get it past the MOT, but would need to be changed ASAPMark.

Depends on size of split, it is a advisory if it is a small cut/split. Mine had the same just last week, got put down as advisory, which is the only reason I know
Booked in this week to get it done.

It says in the mot manual, " a split gaiter preventing the Ingres of dirt" or "a split gaiter allowing grease to escape", so if it's either of these then it "should" fail if the tester is straight ! As its in black and white and not like the dvsa say, light black or dark white area!
