Problem with morning starting

I experience a very awkward problem with my Disco3 TDV6 HSE 2005. When started in the morning the engine does a few revs and stops. Then it takes a number of attempts - from 1 to until the battery is finished. In wet or foggy conditions the problem is even worse. After this during the day there is no problem.
There are no fuel leakages underneath the car.
I do not drive the car every day and it stays outside. If kept in a garage and after installing a freshly charged battery there is not a problem at all.
Please suggest a solution.

They were checked at the authorized LR service station together with other systems and no problem was reported.

I'd check fuel pressure from the LP pump at the schrader test valve towards the back of the engine bay. If the pressure is poor you may have a wiring problem to the pump or just a bad LP pump.

Thumbs Up

Mine has just done exactly as you described. Flack has been today to replace the in tank pump. Runs a treat now!

I did as Robbie described and found no fuel flow during the ignition cycling. The in tank fuel pump had given up.
