Wife vs electric gates!
great start to Sunday morning, wife decides to take my car for a change.
comes back in a few minutes later in floods of tears.
reckons gates started to close and she couldn't get out the way
more like you backed into gates didn't you!!

arch trim was hanging off

thankfully the paint came off with plastic scourer pad and a good polish up means no sign of it happening

lacquer must be pretty tough
Lesson 1 = hide keys
Lesson 2 = if gates do close on car DON'T move!XC90 T8 R Design Pro

I'm gobsmacked you got away with that
The first picture looks horrendous - Your wife is obviously an excellent driver who managed to prevent serious injury to your Disco

Pretty lucky escape.....my wife has destroyed rear bumpers on 3 of my cars by reversing into gates.....all the cars had parking sensors "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

Time to get those essential discovery based purchases in while MrsC is in a "focused" mode.

Have you considered sensors across the gap between the gate posts?

Good job on the tidy up though
SWMBO has a Mitsubishi Colt to wreck and goes nowhere near mine ...
The big crease in the tailgate of her 'car' (waiting for comments ) wasn't her fault apparently....
someone ran into her but just drove off D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.
D4 rear upgrade - Narpys helped with that bit
Flack for problem solving and D4 Bluetooth Install/ D4 Heated Steering wheel with Flappy paddles n BBS enabling kit
Disco Mikeys work - Serviced, EGR blanking and 4x4 software upgrade, 3 flash indicators.

She has her car and I have two - that's fair
Luckily she only likes small cars so I make sure mine are large

I did feel sick when I first saw it but definitely got lucky and it was just paint and no dents or scratches.
DSL, I'm lucky in that she's not too bothered what I waste my money on! To be fair though I do usually tell her they cost a 10th of what I actually pay!
THUB, got ones in line with posts but may now consider putting the extra rear ones in! If she had just have stopped and hit gate button again nothing would have happened. Gates aren't set to crush the car just close. Happened to me once when hooking up tin tent and all was fine.
Has made me decide to get a da polisher as first time I've noticed how much better it looks polished up.XC90 T8 R Design Pro
