BAA D3

Seen at Heathrow T4 last night: white with lots of flashing lights on the roof and an A-bar with spots. Looked very cool, even in white...

Also saw a FFRR painted in camo green, with red lining around the number plate, usually a sign that it belongs to a government agency, I believe. Driver was steadfastly refusing to catch my eye. Never seen a RR without metallic paint, and certainly not one in camo green. If they were trying to make it not stand out, they failed...

I think that you have to have a 4x4 to go airside - glad to see they made a good choice

Think it is something about all axles must be powered if the vehicle is to leave the hardtop. Hence 6x6 fire engines etc.

Or there again I'm typing mince. Whistle

There is some sort of regulation I'm sure. Although the are also plenty of 2wd vans etc running around the aprons at Manchester AP.

You only have to watch "Airport" ( Embarassed ) to see that there are all manner of vehicles airside...can't find any regs on BAA or CAA sites to suggest any specific dirvetrain requirements Wink

Leaving the 'hardtop' and going 'Airside' are 2 different issues. The emergency vehicles need all wheel drive in most cases for obvious reasons. There is no requirement for all wheel drive to go air side Thumbs Up
