Vibration going downhill!!! |
|
Hope someone can shed some light on this. D4 Commercial 85k just over 3 years old. The steering wheel vibrates between 60 - 80mph this happens infrequently , however what is weird is that it happens on the same part of the motorway (everyday) when I'm going downhill. I've had the wheels rebalanced and a local garage check bearing etc
Can anyone help me

Don't know if it effects the D3 in the same way but I had this in my Defender. It was a worn UJ on the front prop.

Could it be down to road surface if it happens at one particular spot?

I had similar not long after getting the D3 and pulled over on the M25, such was the vibrating, I assumed I had a flat or a wheel was hanging off. Checked the car over and nothing so drove off gingerly and still the vibration until I had travelled about a half mile and it cleared. Same journey a few days later and same result, road surface.
Nothing visible with road surface, didn't look any different from the outer lanes but that inside lane on the M25 clockwise between M4 and M40 is shocking.
