Permenant connected 12v supply in car
Each time I turn off the ignition (maybe to restart after a stall) the car's cigarrette power sockets turn off. This causes mayhem in the back as it turns off the portable DVD player.

I have taken a direct feed from the battery and fed wire through blank grommet next to brake booster. Wires arrive under drivers side footwell panel.... go figure from there on. Make sure you cable tie wires away from the adjustable steering wheel mechanism. Have fused wire at battery.
Also had the benefit of going to dealers while they were fitting bluetooth phone while they had the dash out and so have managed to get my "live all the time" feed up to middle of dash shelf as we in NZ do not have the screen in middle of dash.Near enough 40 degrees South!!!

Nup its empty... no screen anywhere in NZ yet. I have actually fitted a Garmin 276c GPS unit on that shelf as it fits well and I can remove it to go on boat. This model has voice prompt and downloadable sofware and so is updatable depending where in the world I am. It also has removable memory chips so I can change from road maps to boat charts.Near enough 40 degrees South!!!

Strange.... there must be GPS mapping for NZ... although maybe as there's not much likelyhood of a war breaking out there, it's a bit lower on the priority list
The GPS software has only just become available and I understand there are licensing issues so I guess LR just left it out.Near enough 40 degrees South!!!

Ahhh the old 'regional variations' trick I suppose if they did fit the screen, there's only so many times you can be interested in which way your wheels are pointing
