Electric Trailer Brake Pin Location on D3 Trailer Sockets |
|
I have done a couple of searches on the forums but could not find information on the pin on the connector socket for wiring trailer electric brakes. Further, is there wiring fitted to the D3 that runs from the back of the car to the front to connect an electric brake controller in the cabin or do you have to run a separate wire/wires?
Appreciate any thoughts on this.

Electric Trailer Brake Controller |
|
Barryp,
I have instruction sheets titled " Tow bar & Electric Brake Controller Fittment to Disco 3 " which were obtained from the dealer after I first towed my trailer with the then new Disco (before I had fitted the HR controller}. Everything was fine until I switched on the parking lights as it was getting towards dusk. The bloody trailer brakes locked up!!! I contacted the service manager who said that the brake circuit was being energised by feed back from the light circuit and he then sent me the above Instruction sheets for fitting the brake controller. A 3 Amp diode also had to be fitted to stop the feedback and this is explained in the detail. PM me and I will Fax or post copies.
