I was wondering... Sometimes when I write a longer post/stop to check something/get interrupted or on a particularly busy thread, I click the preview button to refresh the list of post below and check that what I'm posting is still relevant.
Having got used to this, I occasionally click the refresh button instead by mistake ( ), therefore losing whatever I've typed. Not sure if anyone else suffers from this.
Would it be possible to add a pop-up warning if you click the refresh button on the "posting page", allowing you to cancel?Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

Thin end of the wedge - you'll be asking for someone to come round & wipe your next news!!
Just thought a few people might find it useful. It can be a pain if you've lost a carefully thought out, fairly long post that may need links retrieving again.
It's easy for people to misunderstand things/take things badly on an internet forum so I try to word my posts to be understood in the best possible manner, that's all.

It'd be a bit of a long drive....
No offence meant, what you are suggesting would no doubt be useful. I have no idea how much effort it would take though - its often easier to suggest ways of improving things than it is to implement them?
Might just be a basic bit of JavaScript? I'm no expert either but thought, there's no harm in asking.
I just assume that any suggestions will always be meant only if practical. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

The preview button works fine for this but once you start thinking of it as "refreshing" the list below...

I've had that dilemma myself occasionally, if I'm contemplating a longish reply in a busy thread I'll sometimes type it into Notepad first and then, when I'm happy with it and checked that it's still relevant I'll copy and paste it into the reply box.
Works for me (mostly) Clive

While you're down there can you pick up my breaching bars and drop them back to London?
I agree in fairness...I've lost several pages of script and would find the ability not to lose them would help....however in reality it's also helped... As I find myself writing rather more tactfully the second time around!

Is this why I am now getting a new message 'Do you really want to leave this page?' if I want to preview or submit my message?
Not a problem, just wondered
