Going to look at a Disco 4

Going to look at a Disco 4 3.0 tdv6 gs with 65000 miles on the clock. Anything I should look for before I leap in head first.
Many thanks in advance

Don't know what your budget is, but if you can stretch to the XS, you get sat nav and leather.
Things to look for?
Everything!
It's a complex piece of kit, with a lot to go wrong. When it all works it will put a huge grin on your face. When it's not working, it will empty your bank account.
If you buy from a Land Rover dealer make sure you get a years warranty. Then find a good Indy.
Would say in nearly 6 years of D3 and D4 ownership. I have never been stranded by the side of the road.
Good luck, if you take the plunge.

Cruise control, easy option to add.
Leather, can be re trimmed for a lot less than the extra needed to get you the XS.
Sat nav, really not fussed, much prefer a TOM TOM.

The GS is much under rated and makes a good buy.

Listen for knocks from the front bushes as they may well be starting to wear.
Check the history.
You'll know if it feels and looks right Thumbs Up with the money you've saved purchasing the GS model you're have some change in the bank for any unforeseen repairs Very Happy

Best of luck Thumbs Up

I agree on the sat nav found mine out of date and unusable but the phone hands free and ice were brilliant. I much prefer Tom tom with live it also frees up the screen in the car for other things.

I'd echo the good warranty / LR backed scheme. On our 60 plate / 58,000 mile example in just one month it's had turbo switchover valve, instrument cluster, lower front wishbones and next week is the turn of the air suspension!

Given ours had around £3k of dealer prep invoices when we bought it (in December), I had initially hoped for some trouble free motoring. When it works however, it is great and the timed heat (can't have on a GS without the full screen, I believe) is absolutely the best feature I've ever had on a car.

I'd suggest trying a few so that you get a feeling for what good should be; they do get under your skin, for sure Thumbs Up
